A very useful anterior
torquing spring used to generate more positive torque in
the upper incisors. The device ends hook distally to each
upper central bracket and the centre circle (coil) is pressed
into the archwire. This spring contacts, and presses on, the
tooth surface, gingival or occlusal of the bracket. The
pressure from the spring causes the tooth to move in the
direction of the force resulting in a lingual root
movement.
